"Stay-cation"

It's about to be a stressful summer of
playing "The Waiting Game"...
aka:
I'm waiting on grad school responses,
Aaron is looking at other jobs,
and we are looking at a potential move.

We got our lease extended until July (Praise the Lamb!) so we wouldn't be so rushed in finding another place to live IN CASE we move. So with all the stress coming our way, Aaron decided to take off work. We had tossed around the idea of going somewhere on a mini-anniversary trip, but ended up staying NWA and doing a "Stay-cation", which we were both initially bummed about...but y'all, it was a blessing in disguise. We got to sleep in and relax. We celebrated our anniversary with a fancy dinner/night out, we went to the movies, we (FINALLY) went to Crystal Bridges, and we finally went shopping for Aaron! YAY! And last Friday, we picked up the "surprise" bachelorette cake for one of my best friends and we headed back down to Central AR. My big brother also had the State Special Olympics and we made it to Searcy JUST in time to watch his Powerlifting events!

Side note: I'm pretty sure I gained 5-10lbs this week because we ate out so much.
It was worth it ;)

We had a great week! So happy to have a week off from any kind of schedule! Plus it was Memorial Day weekend, so we even got to visit my grandparents and spend some time at the lake house in Hot Springs! And a good time was had by all!

Thrifting

Okay...I may or may not have a new obsession.

I met up with my friend Amanda today and after a deeelicious smoothie and a little boutique shopping, she mentioned going to a thrift store in Fay called The Potter's House. I don't know that much about it, but some of the proceeds go to charity. It is a Christian-based organization.

So basically,  I love thrifting. (OH LAWD!)

We had SO much fun checking out all the quirky merchandise.

Take this candle for example...

Yes....it's a sheep dog candle.

Amanda found some great things, including a set of shelves that she's going to make-over for her kitchen. I ended up with some metal candlesticks that I'm planning on giving a face-lift to, once I get all the old wax off them. I also found a quirky little tin punched pig! It was my "little piece of happy" of the day!

I love this so much! It goes perfectly with my pig/Razorback theme in my kitchen!

Isn't it adorable!? I am in love with this little pig. It's so fun and quirky! It's going to make a great little conversation piece! :) I'm thinking about painting the frame black or red, to go along with my Razorback/pig theme in the kitchen.

Well, I'm off to clean my candlesticks!

Have a lovely day,
Holly
